A lot of memories have been made here over the years. Please enjoy some of the memories below and if you have your own memories you'd like to share please let us know. We'll post them right here!

I use to go every other weekend and remember once I don't remember the year I think it was about 1952 they gave away a Car and the place was packed no empty seat for weeks before the drawing. Sometimes I would help the kid who cleaned the place up on Monday and clean out the popcorn machine it was really great one time the guy who ran the projector came in while I was helping and ask if I would like to see where the projector room was and we went up and looked it all over then he ask if we would like to watch the movie on Saturday afternoon and that was really a thrill I'll never forget. The popcorn was always fresh and candy was reasonable and never old or stuck to the paper. Wonderful memories, even now when I smell fresh popcorn I think about that little movie in London. I always liked the State over the Majestic that was up by the Courthouse..

My name is Sarah Amling. My twin sister, Elizabeth, and our grandmother, Edie, love going to the State Theatre together. My sister and I have LOVED movies ever since we were kids. One of our favorite things to do is a movie marathon where we go see 2, 3, or even 4 movies in a row! It's funny because our grandma just told us a story about how she used to do the exact same thing when she was a little girl! It's nice to know some things never change. Going to the State Theater is something we get to share with our Grandma (who is 80 years old by the way!) and it’s something that we will always have to remember. Our Grandma started losing some of her hearing these last few years, but that never stopped her from going and we know she loves just being there with us. She very recently got a hearing aid and we’ve been so excited to watch our first State Theater movie together after the renovation! We look forward to the reopening of this fantastic little place in London, Ohio!

I grew up in London and have many fond memories of the State Theatre. My mother would allow me to go to the movie every Saturday afternoon only if I would let my younger sister and brother tag along. Cartoons, Candy and Movies....what a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon!

Besides the General Cinema on Wilson Road (long since gone), the State Theatre in London was one of my first and favorite places to see the movies as a kid. I'm glad you're remodeling it for future generations to enjoy! I can still remember the time when I came home after school excited about a new movie playing at the State. I ran into the house and asked my dad if I could go see "Horror House" with my friend George Peyton. My dad's eyes widened and he said absolutely NOT! He thought I said "Whore House". He was ok with it after I pronounced it slowly for him.

I have many fond memories of the State Theatre. I worked there in high school in the late l940's. I was the relief cashier for the regular cashier while she had dinner and also was the cashier at the old Majestic Theatre on weekends. The pay wasn't great, but we got to see all the movies free so that was a big plus! All the best to you. Hope your dream theatre is a great success. P.S. I now live in Perry, GA and we have an old theatre here that needs to be reopened. Let me know when you're ready to branch out!

Best of luck with the remodel. I can't wait to see it. I also grew up in London and have many fond memories of going to the theater. We now live in Lewis Center but will definitely visit once its open! Bring on the popcorn!

No OLD memories, since we moved here only 10 years ago. Stand out memory was discovering who Queen Latifah is when I saw one of her movies there, and, to my surprise, laughing a lot and really liking her!

I spent a lot of my childhood at the state theatre. Roy Rogers, Maw and Paw Kettle, Abbott and Costello, Gene Autrey, all the scary movies they had on Saturday, just to name a few! The great popcorn

The London State Theatre was the very first theatre that I ever got to attend without Mom or Dad along. The first movie that I saw with just friends was Godzilla vs The Smog Monster. I still love this movie today. My friends and I went multiple times. Popcorn, a Coke, Twizzlers (used as a straw), friends and a movie with men in big rubber monster suits, I can't think of a better way to spend an afternoon!
